Andrew McCarthy @AJamesMcCarthy
Seldom do photos illustrate the absolute magnitude of our star, so I did my best with this one. Look at the dots on the upper right- that's our Moon and Earth, to scale. This photo was captured from my backyard last week and is around 180 megapixels. Pretty wild. https://t.co/XYBqqmLt7l Am 26. Juni, 2022 um 19:53 via Twitter Andrew McCarthy @AJamesMcCarthy
Here's a close crop from the full image. The moon is 238,900 miles from Earth here. The scale of these plasma structures is just incredible! There is a version without the Earth/moon for scale on my website, prints available up to 40": https://t.co/hRFqKQc5BL https://t.co/88UyfRio7M Am 26.
