Populäre Apps wie Adblock Plus oder AdAway wurden unerwartet aus Googles-App-Store entfernt. Der Konzern beruft sich dabei auf Nutzungsbestimmungen der App-Plattform.Wie Jerry Rummler, Entwickler eines Ad Blockers, am Mittwoch über Twitter bekannt gegeben hat, wurde er von Google informiert, dass sämtliche Werbeblocker-Apps aus dem App-Store entfernt werden. Den entsprechenden Brief hat er außerdem auf Pastebin veröffentlicht. Demnach verletzen die Programme Punkt 4.4 des Developer Distribution Agreement. Der Punkt besagt, dass man keine Programme veröffentlichen darf, die "Geräte, Server, Netzwerke oder andere Bestandteile" in irgendeiner Form "stören, unterbrechen, beschädigen oder in einer unerlaubten Weise darauf zugreifen."

Es sieht leider so aus, als hätte AdFree seinen Dienst eingestellt.Die App funktioniert nicht mehr und auf der Herstellerhomepage wird die App auch nicht mehr erwähnt.

All violations are tracked. Serious or repeated violations of any nature will result in the termination of your developer account, and investigation and possible termination of related Google accounts. If your account is terminated, payments will cease and Google may recover the proceeds of any past sales and/or the cost of any associated fees (such as chargebacks and transaction fees) from you.
If your developer account is still in good standing, you may revise and upload a new instance of the application that is compliant with the developer terms. Before uploading any new applications, please review the Developer Distribution Agreement and Content Policy.
